Forensic
Recovery
A
specialist local 24hr vehicle recovery service
for Police Forces, involving preservation
of accident or crime evidence for forensic
examination.
CMG has invested heavily in the development
of forensic recovery techniques in collaboration
with Scenes of Crime Officers, Police Vehicle
Examiners and equipment manufacturers. As
a result any motor vehicle, caravan or trailer
can be recovered from any position which
affords access to the recovery vehicle:
- without contact with
the bodywork, suspension or floorpan
- with or without wheels
- without the wheels turning
(if present)
- without requiring any access
to the vehicle interior or driving controls
Vehicles required for forensic
examination can be recovered without any
risk of damage to the bodywork and without
degradation of fingerprints, other contact
evidence or mechanical evidence:
- from any position
on or off lock in any confined parking
space
- in any state of physical
integrity, from showroom condition to
severe impact damage
The
term 'Forensic Recovery', now used nationally,
was coined by CMG in the early 1980's and
describes the specialist methods employed
by the company when preservation of evidence
is of paramount importance in the recovery
of vehicles for Police Forces.
As important as the equipment used is the
expertise of recovery technicians. CMG intensively
trains selected recovery operatives in the
practical aspects of forensic recovery to
achieve and maintain the high levels of
skill essential to such work.
Recovery operations are controlled and monitored
by experienced staff using the latest computerised
dispatching and tracking technology.
