CMG Rescue Services gets involved with a wide range of roadside assistance and recovery activities. Here we feature a recent job to illustrate the type and variety of the work we do.
It's a lifting experience
We received a call from one of our regular customers to attend their yard where a crane had fallen off a lowloader. The crane weighed around 50 tonnes. Once we had assessed the situation, carried out all the necessary risk assessments and completed a method statement we were contracted to carry out the recovery.
Three HRVs were used to complete the operation: our Volvo FH 12 was used to lift the crane, "Kenny" (our Kenworth Rotator) was used to pull the crane over and catch it, whilst our Daf 95 also caught the crane as it tipped into the upright position and then lowered it down:
