The 24 hour control centre at CMG's Newport Pagnell Headquarters uses a sophisticated computer system developed by Laserbyte called VTRAK.

Rapid and efficient deployment of the dedicated team of assistance and recovery operators with appropriate vehicles and equipment is achieved using cab terminals with EDI technology and navigation.

Real-time tracking means that customers can be given accurate updates on the location and ETA of assistance vehicles.

The system enables:

• sending job details, directly to the assistance vehicle cab
• tracking of all resources - exact location, direction, speed and status, with large screen street level display in the control centre
• in-cab mapping, speech assisted routing and location system with automatic calculation and transmission to base of ETA's and 'on scene' status
• sending of job detail by major motoring organisations via Electronic Data Interchange.
